The product

What is DryHeat?

DryHeat is the technical clothing line of Athesis, a knitwear maker in Maccacari (Verona, Italy) operating since 1971. Base layers, mid layers and accessories in polypropylene for outdoor sport, work in the cold and leisure.

What makes DryHeat garments unique?

The polypropylene we knit into our DHtech fabrics: insulating, breathable, hypoallergenic and bacteriostatic. It absorbs very little water, so sweat doesn't stay in the fibre and the garment dries quickly. You get less cold when you stop.

Are DryHeat garments thermoregulating?

Yes, the garments made of DHtech fabrics: they are based on polypropylene, which helps keep your body temperature steady both under effort and when you stop. The hiking socks are merino wool, which keeps you warm even when damp.

Are DryHeat garments only for sport?

No. They are also worn by people who work outdoors or in the cold (construction, logistics, cold storage, agriculture) and by anyone looking for comfort in their free time. Discover DryHeat Professional.

What are the advantages of polypropylene?
  • Light: it is the textile fibre with the lowest specific weight.
  • Dry: in DryHeat Lab tests its weight increases by 0.13% after absorbing liquid, versus 0.72% for polyester.
  • Insulating: it holds warmth even when you stop.
  • Hygienic: hypoallergenic and bacteriostatic.
  • Practical: it dries quickly and needs no ironing.

No. The collection comes in different weights: DHtech 140 for spring, autumn and summer, DH Extreme Power and DH Carbontech for effort in any season, DH Drywool, DHtech 400 and Pyramid 3D for the cold.

Which sports are they suited to?

All outdoor sports where you alternate effort and stops: skiing, ski touring, mountaineering, trekking, running, cycling, sailing. In indoor sports they are useful for warming up.

Are there garments for specific sports?

Yes. You'll find selections for ski and snowboard, mountain, running and multisport and sailing (DHtech 400 Sail line), plus Professional for work.

Do DryHeat garments need special care?

No. Machine wash on a normal cycle, max 30 °C. No bleach, ironing, steam, dry cleaning or tumble drying: they air-dry quickly. Always follow the garment's care label.
